The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ...When word broke over the weekend that Perriman suffered a partially torn ACL during practice, word was that he'd visit with Dr. James Andrews this week to find out if he's going to miss a second straight season. That decision will reportedly come on Tuesday. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Perriman will undergo arthroscopic surgery that will help determine whether or not the ACL needs to be reconstructed.
Diehards Line:If Perriman does need the full reconstruction, the 2015 first-round pick will miss the 2016 season after missing all of his rookie year because of a PCL injury. It would also set him up for another long stretch of rehab before he can even think about getting back on the field and making a delayed start to a career that doesn’t feel as promising as it did at this time last year. But Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport are reporting there's still some hope that Perriman can return this year. ... We'll be following up.
