The Facts: Thomas, now the most-tenured Broncos player on the roster, is no stranger to change at QB. He came in during the Kyle Orton quarterback era, starred in the Tim Tebow era, kicked off the Peyton Manning era and caught the first touchdown pass in Brock Osweiler's short tenure as a starter. But now, as he awaits starting quarterback No. 5 since the start of his NFL career, Thomas has embraced transition unlike any other in his previous six years with the Broncos. The team has an open competition between Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch. "All of them can make every throw, but it's a little different going with somebody new," Thomas said. "I've been with Peyton for the last four years, and of course I had Brock as well. But it's like my first time going with any of them."
Diehards Line:
Within the team’s first two weeks of OTAs, discourse over which of the newcomers has the edge, who might be in the lead for the starting job, who on paper is best-suited to take the reins in Week 1 has swung wildly. But on the field, the repetitions have been split, and Thomas and his fellow receivers are along for the ride, trying to build chemistry with each, slowly and incrementally. Building that rapport, Thomas says, will come down to one thing. “More repetition," he said. For that to happen a potential starter will need to emerge -- the sooner the better.
