The Facts: According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the Vikings are releasing Wallace, who has failed to live up to his potential in two cities since his big contract.
Diehards Line:
This jibes with what CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora reported Monday. ... The Dolphins traded Wallace to the Vikings rather than continue to pay him and he responded by catching 39 passes last year. That didn’t mesh with the nearly $12 million he was owed this year. The Dolphins gave him what was billed as a five-year, $60 million contract in 2013, but since leaving Pittsburgh, he’s never gotten come close to being a 1,000-yard receiver like he was with the Steelers. The Vikings will now be on the lookout for a new No. 1 receiver -- or at least a more capable downfield threat.
