The Facts:
A second-round drafted receiver last year, Latimer did not have a productive rookie season, catching only two passes. He is in the Broncos' plans to become a third receiver to Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in 2015. "I think it's time for him to make a big jump," Kubiak said. "Not just a little jump. Obviously his play time is fixing to pick up, and it needs to pick up, so we need him to make a big jump in year two."
Diehards Line:
Kubiak said while he was with Baltimore last year, he held a predraft visit with Latimer. So the coach is familiar with the youngster. One problem: Latimer played just 37 snaps on offense last season. But he'll have a chance to make up ground soon. GM John Elway recently told reporters that Latimer is expected to join Manning at workouts at Duke in the coming weeks. “You get through that rookie year, he’s going to have his feet under him this year and feel a lot more comfortable with where he is," Elway said. “And I think the system is going to be easier, too."
