Porter Could Miss Up To Six Weeks...
Jerry Porter underwent hernia surgery Friday in Tampa, Fla., as expected, and will return to the Bay Area for rehabilitation, a source close to Porter told Contra Costa Times staff reporter Steve Corkran.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Daniel Diaco, the source said.

In an article published this morning, Corkran reported that his source said he hasn't received any word on how long Porter will be out, but that six to eight weeks is not out of the question.

"I would hope only six," he said.

Head coach Bill Callahan told Corkran he hadn't spoken with Porter as of Friday afternoon, but that he expected to do so later in the day. Callahan said he wouldn't give an estimate on how long Porter would be out until he talked to Porter.
