Sam Bradford Wants Out Of Philadelphia
So much for being fine with the addition of a rookie quarterback. All of the sudden, Sam Bradford wants out of Philadelphia. And he's making that clear in a very public manner.

In doing so, he's provided yet another in a series of ongoing soap operas for fantasy football owners to deal with heading into the NFL Draft weekend.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Eagles quarterback has told the team he wants to be traded and that he won’t be showing up to any more offseason activities.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the requested to be traded "blindsided" the Eagles. The team still views Bradford as their starter.

Worth noting, Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman told reporters after the news broke, "I want to reiterate our support for Sam Bradford. He is our starting quarterback."

Roseman didn't deny Bradford is upset, however. "I think as a competitor emotions come into play, Roseman said. "Thats what makes these guys great players"

Roseman added: "These workouts are voluntary. We look forward to seeing Sam again in the near future."

Of course, as Profootballtalk.com pointed out, the $17.5 million a year contract the Eagles gave him this offseason stuck out like a sore thumb the minute they traded for the right to draft a quarterback with the second pick overall, considering they also paid Chase Daniel -- a player incoming head coach Doug Pederson considers more than just a backup -- in free agency as well.

The team is expected to land Carson Wentz with that No. 2 pick (assuming the Rams take Jared Goff at No. 1) when the draft cranks up on Thursday.

As NFL.com noted, the Eagles have tied up a lot of cash and draft pick currency in the position this offseason because they wanted to make sure they had a franchise quarterback. It’s hard to imagine a situation where they thought Bradford was that guy, and the trade for No. 2 underscores that fact.

Still, they were just as clearly hoping to have Bradford on board as a bridge to cover them while the incoming rookie is prepped for the job.

Adding to the intrigue, teams like the Jets, Broncos and 49ers might all have some interest in Bradford.

Needless to say we'll all be hearing more about this in coming days and weeks. Steel yourself.
