Walker Closing In On Some Major Milestones
According to TitansOnline.com's Jim Wyatt, Delanie Walker has a chance to reach some pretty big accomplishments in the season finale at Indianapolis on Sunday.

With five catches against the Colts, Walker would become just the ninth tight end in league history to record a 90-catch season.

Walker is just six yards away from reaching 1,000 receiving yards for the season. His previous high for yards came in 2014, when he had 890 yards.

“Delanie has done it for a number of years, and has obviously been the workhorse for us this year, and last year,’’ quarterback Zach Mettenberger said. “All the hard work he has put in has really translated to the football field.”

The eight tight ends in history who’ve produced 90-catch seasons: Tony Gonzalez (five), Jason Witten (four), Todd Christensen (two), Dallas Clark (one), Jimmy Graham (one), Ben Coates (one), Martellus Bennett (one) and Rob Gronkowski (one).

Walker has already set single-season franchise records for catches (85) and receiving yards (994) on the season. He’s also scored six touchdowns.

Walker said getting to 1,000 receiving yards would be meaningful to him.

“If you look at our record and me being able to get 1,000 yards and accomplish what I did on the field,’’ Walker said, “it means a lot to me.”

Meanwhile, despite avoiding shadow coverage from Johnathan Joseph, Dorial Green-Beckham was held without a catch in Week 16.

And as Profootballfocus.com's Mike Clay pointed out, DGB's life won't be any easier against Vontae Davis in the team's season finale.

Clay explained Davis is a part-time shadow corner, which was evident in the first meeting between the teams in Week 3. Davis shadowed on 16 of Kendall Wright's 44 routes, but otherwise moved around the formation. Then a part-time player, Green-Beckham was limited to 14 routes in that game.

Green-Beckham is now an every-down player and lines up wide to the left on 52 percent of his routes. That's where Davis lines up when not shadowing.

Even if Davis simply plays his side, Green-Beckham will have his hands full. He is best left on benches this week, especially with Marcus Mariota out.
