Steelers Promoting Practice Squad QB; Further Indicating Big Ben Won't Play
Following up on the ongoing story. ... The Steelers are promoting rookie quarterback Tyler Murphy from the practice squad, Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reported, which means Ben Roethlisberger probably won’t play Sunday in Kansas City.

Landry Jones is in line to make his first career start. Roethlisberger is listed as questionable and was limited in practice this week; he’s missed the last three games due to a sprained MCL. Michael Vick (hamstring) has been ruled out.

Murphy ran the scout team in practice this week while Jones got the No. 1 reps.

The Steelers host the unbeaten Bengals on Nov. 1. As Profootballtalk.com notes, that was the initial target date for Roethlisberger following his injury.
