They’ll start the season without either man in the organization. Michael was traded to the Cowboys and Turbin has been waived off of injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement with the team. Turbin was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury when the team made the cut to 53 players.
According to Profootballtalk.com's Josh Alper, Turbin will be eligible to be claimed by the other 31 teams in the league and will become a free agent if no one decides to pull the trigger. He could return to the Seahawks in six weeks if he hasn’t found a new team, but that seems like a long shot given their decision to place him on injured reserve with an injury that isn’t expected to keep Turbin sidelined for the entire season.
Turbin had 74 carries for 310 yards last season and added 16 catches while playing as the primary backup to Lynch in Seattle’s offense.
That No. 2 role now goes to former Buffalo Bill Fred Jackson.
Worth noting. ... TE Cooper Helfet (knee), QB Tarvaris Jackson (ankle) and Lynch (not injury related) were all listed as limited participants Wednesday.
