Primary Fantasy Producers Do Enough For Us, But Not Enough To Win
Kansas City outscored the Raiders 17-0 since the latter stages of the third quarter to take a 20-17 lead early in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to keep the Raiders from winning their first game in a 24-20 contest the Chiefs took right down to the wire.

Alex Smith connected with Anthony Fasano for a 19-yard touchdown pass on a blown coverage by the Raiders for Kansas City’s first touchdown of the night.

The Chiefs scored again on their following possession as Smith dumped a pass across the middle to Jamaal Charles, who sliced through the Raiders Defense for a 30-yard touchdown to tie the game at 17-17 with 12:20 left to play.

After a Raiders three-and-out, the Chiefs moved inside the Raiders 10-yard line but had to settle for a 25-yard Cairo Santos field goal to give Kansas City their first lead of the night.

But the Raiders responded with their biggest drive of the season. Derek Carr converted a fourth-and-1 with a quarterback sneak and a pass interference call against Ron Parker helped keep the drive alive before the rookie QB tossed a touchdown pass to James Jones with 1:42 left to play.

Smith’s fourth down pass to Frankie Hammond fell incomplete to give the Raiders their first victory in 368 days.

Tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Dwayne Bowe arrived in the second half to provide some offense for a team in desperate need. Kelce had three catches in the second half for 59 yards. Bowe had a 24-yard catch on a touchdown drive.

Charles ran for 80 yards on 19 carries. As CBSSports.com notes, he wasn't able to break any long rushes, with his longest run going for 11 yards. Charles did make up for that in the passing game, though. He caught four of his team-high seven targets for 42 yards and the above-mentioned score.

After a sluggish first half, Smith led a comeback in the final two periods. Smith was 8-of-18 for 48 yards in the first half, 12-of-18 for 185 yards and two touchdowns after that.
