There wasn't much question about which one showed up after the Bengals Thursday night's 24-3 home loss to the Browns.
As Profootballtalk.com's Curtis Crabtree noted, Cleveland took advantage of a horrendous performance by Dalton. The Browns intercepted him three times and held Dalton to just 86 yards passing.
Dalton’s 2.0 passer rating was the lowest by any starter this season, surpassing the 22.2 rating posted by Josh McCown in Tampa Bay’s 56-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 18.
In addition, Dalton’s rating is the worst by any starting quarterback since Jeff Garcia posted a 0.0 rating as a starter for Cleveland against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 19, 2004, per STATS Inc.
Garcia went 8 of 27 for 71 yards and three interceptions. Thursday night against Cleveland, Dalton was 10 of 33 for 86 yards and three interceptions.
As CBSSports.com's R.J. White pointed out, tight end Jermaine Gresham "led" the way Thursday, catching three of his six targets for 29 yards, while No. 1 receiver A.J. Green was held to three catches on 10 targets for just 23 yards. Wide receiver Mohamed Sanu managed only two receptions for 20 yards.
Jeremy Hill rushed for 55 yards on just 12 carries and added one catch for six yards in his team's 24-3 loss to the Browns in Week 10.
Needless to say, others suffered due to his performance. ... Get complete game stats HERE.
As ESPN.com's Coley Harvey notes, with 10 days off until their next game, the Bengals have a while to stew over this latest defeat.
They aren't in action again until Nov. 16, when they go on the road to face the New Orleans Saints. It's the first of three straight on the road, with Houston and Tampa Bay to follow.
