Jackson Held Out Wednesday; But WR Still Planning To Play
Following up on an item in this week's Team Notes. ... Wide receiver DeSean Jackson did not practice Wednesday afternoon despite expressing his intentions to suit up for Sunday against his former team, the Eagles.

Jackson did some work on a side field, but didn’t test out his sprained left shoulder. Head Jay Gruden said he hoped that Jackson could practice in a limited capacity on Thursday and possibly do more on Friday.

Worth noting: Jackson told Eagles running back LeSean McCoy on Monday that the injury won't keep him from suiting up against Philadelphia.

"He's playing," McCoy told WIP-FM on Wednesday. "He said he's definitely playing. That's the first thing he texted, he said 'I'm playing.'"

The Redskins this week labeled Jackson "day-to-day," but quarterback Kirk Cousins expects the wideout to be in the lineup at Lincoln Financial Field.

"I'm sure the crowds will cheer him on," McCoy said. "I don't think they'll boo him. ... Hey, they didn't boo [Donovan] McNabb. They didn't boo McNabb. It's tough. I don't think they will boo him, but I think he'll come out trying to play hard. ..."

Also missing practice on Wednesday was tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring). According to the Washington Post, Gruden said it was possible that Reed could take part in some individual drills on Thursday, but no determination on his availability for Sunday.

Fullback Darrel Young practiced in a limited capacity because of the soreness in his neck and back that stemmed from the hit he sustained late in Sunday’s game.

Running back Roy Helu (knee), left guard Shawn Lauvao (knee) and linebacker Brian Orakpo (ankle) all practiced fully despite injuries. ...

And finally. ... Robert Griffin III, who dislocated his left ankle gainst the Jaguars last Sunday, will wear a cast for 10 days, then get reevaluated, Gruden said. "We'll look at it from there and it will be a rehab process -- probably four to six weeks, somewhere in there," he said.
