Harvin Come Up With Torn Hip Labrum; Surgery Possible
Head coach Pete Carroll told reporters Thursday that Percy Harvin -- a surprise addition to the team's physically unable to perform list -- suffered a hip injury during a workout last week.

The injury was spotted in an MRI performed on Thursday.

Carroll said surgery has not been ruled out.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Harvin has a possible slight tear in the labrum of his hip. According to Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio, the team wants Harvin to try to practice and play with the injury while receiving non-surgical treatment.

Harvin intends to exercise his right to a second opinion, and arrangements currently are being made for Harvin to be evaluated by a top expert in the field.

Depending on the second opinion, Harvin may ultimately have surgery

Harvin had been a full-go in minicamp practices last month. The 25-year-old wideout missed the second half of last season with an ankle injury but had been believed to be back to 100 percent.

The Seahawks gave up multiple draft picks in March to secure Harvin in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings. The mercurial playmaker has missed time with injuries and migraines throughout his career, though he passed a physical with Seattle to finalize the trade.

As NFL.com's Dan Hanzus points out, Harvin widely was viewed as the final piece of the puzzle for a Seahawks team expected to make a run at the Super Bowl.

Hanzus summed up: "It's officially worrying time in Seattle."

Fantasy nation should obviously share in that concern until we get a better feel for the next step. Stay tuned.
