Chris Johnson, Titans Agree To Terms On New Deal
As first reported by Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio, the Tennessee Titans and running back Chris Johnson have agreed to terms on a new contract that solves the financial problems between team and player.

At least for 2010.

According to Florio, the arrangement will pay Johnson more money this year, with no additional years being added to the contract. Johnson currently is signed through 2012. ESPN insider Adam Schefter subsequently reported the Titans are moving up a portion of Johnson's $2.5 million escalator which will ensure the speedy tailback will be in camp in time.

Although the new deal has not yet been signed, Schefter expects it will be by Wednesday assuming there are no unforeseen developments.

"We're still talking through some issues," a source told Schefter of the deal. "It's going to get done, but it's not done yet."

With a 2,000-yard rushing season and the most yards from scrimmage in NFL history, Johnson ran away with last season's NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Indeed, considered the fastest man in pro football, Johnson was often uncatchable in becoming the first NFL player to finish with at least 2,000 yards rushing and 500 receiving (503).

Given that production, it came as no surprise that Johnson, who was slated to earn $550,000 this year, wanted a new contract and that he was a no-show for the team's off-season program and OTAs.

It's safe to say the new deal (assuming there are no complications) and a full training camp will only cement Johnson's status as this year's No. 1 Fantasy prospect.
