Start Em / Sit Em - Week 7 - Sunday Games
By Brad Kruse
In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggestin your start Drew Brees each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~4-6 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going. Good Luck this year!
Player | Pos | Team | Opp | Start / Sit | Comment |

Drew Brees | QB | NO | DET | SIT | Detroit has been a brutal defense in 2014. New Orleans is coming off a bye, but on the road has not been nice to the Saints over the years. IF you have a solid option outside Brees, this could be a week to sit him. |
Roy Helu | RB | WAS | TEN | START | Helu has been fairly active this year. His matchup is good and despite being the 2nd RB in Washington he gets > 1/2 the fantasy points at RB for Washington the last 4 weeks. He should be a solid play this week. |
Andre Holmes | WR | OAK | ARI | START | Arizona is yielding 46 ppg to opposing wide receivers. Andre Holmes appears to have emerged as the number 1 in Oakland's offense. I like his odds of continuing to put in startable numbers this week. |
Sammy Watkins | WR | BUF | MIN | START | Watkins is now off of Revis Island. He should return to being a viable start this week. Kyle Orton seems to have re-invigorated this team Look for Watkins to catch at least five balls this week and put in starters numbers. |
Jordan Reed | TE | WAS | TEN | START | Jordan Reed is a solid start this week. He was a focal point in the second half last week for Kirk Cousins. The offense uses the TE and Reed can dominate in stretches. |
San Francisco | D/ST | SF | DEN | SIT | San Francisco as usual is a solid defense. However, week 7 brings a matchup with Denver. Sit them this week in favor of better options. |
