GAME REVIEW
Indianapolis Colts
by Michael Jones

This much we know. The Indianapolis back-ups are in no position to make a Super Bowl run. For a second consecutive week, the Colts rested their stars and left the game result in the hands of the reserves which saw them lose on the road to the Buffalo Bills 30-7.

Peyton Manning started the game as the Colts kept their routine intact. Manning was intercepted on the third play of the game, in no small part due to the poor weather which was a significant factor. He played until the beginning of the second quarter, leading one touchdown drive. Curtis Painter came in and playing in a swirling snow storm was able to only complete 4 of 17 for 39 yards and an interception.

Donald Brown was expected to play a role in the Colts running game, playing against the league's worst run defense. But he only had four carries for negative-4 yards, and only averaged 1.0 yards per carry in his last 20 carries since returning from a bruised chest. As it happened, former Michigan star Mike Hart got 12 touches for 44 yards and a one-yard score. With the bye week, it should be all systems go for Joseph Addai in the Colts' playoff fortunes.

Manning made large use of both Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne in their short time together. In basically one quarter, Clark had seven receptions for 52 yards, while Wayne contributed five catches for 21. Tight end Jacob Tamme led the reserves with one catch for 21 yards while reality star Hank Baskett had a catch for five yards.

Buffalo Bills
by Michael Jones

Years from now, history will show that the Bills dominated the possible 2009 Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts, crushing them 30-7 on the final week of the season. Of course, those of us who lived through it will know there was more to the story, but still, the Bills give their fans who braved the elements a good show to end the season. The Bills are one of those teams who are expected to have a large turnover, both of coaching and personnel, heading into the 2010 season.

After enduring a Brian Brohm-led 30-7 drubbing at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons last week, Ryan Fitzpatrick strapped it up and made a good showing, throwing for three touchdowns. The Bills said all week though that their focus would be on getting their spark-plug running back Fred Jackson over the 1,000 yard mark for the season. He needed 150 coming into the game, and he got it with 212 yards rushing on 33 attempts. A great story from the Coe College star who bounced around minor league football before becoming a fan favorite in Buffalo. Former first-round pick Marshawn Lynch saw only one carry.

Playing in probably his final game in Buffalo, Terrell Owens got his chance to "T.O" the crowd with a 41-yard bomb for a score. He had four catches for 65 yards, finishing the season with an underwhelming 55 catches for 829 yards. Lee Evans also saw a touchdown come his way, his seventh of the season, while Jackson started the scoring with a 11-yard receiving score.

Kicker Rian Lindell iced the game with three field goals, accounting for all the scoring from either team in the second half.
