| NFL owners approved a proposed rule on Wednesday to ban ball carriers from initiating contact with the crown of their helmets in the open field.
The decision came on the final day of the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix.
The owners also overwhelmingly abolished the infamous tuck rule, which has been talked about around the league for more than a decade.

Jennings, Vikings Agree To Five-Year Deal

| Former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings reached an agreement on a five-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who first reported the news, it's a five-year contract.
Jennings, 29, finished with career lows in receptions (36), yards per catch (10.2) and total yards (366) after missing half of the season with a torn muscle in his groin.

As ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported, the Atlanta Falcons agreed to a contract with free-agent running back Steven Jackson on Thursday. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the team confirmed signing Jackson to a three-year contract.
The Falcons had released running back Michael Turner, the team's starter last season, before the start of free agency.

| As ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported, the Patriots reach agreement in principle on five-year deal with former Rams wideout Danny Amendola. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Amendola's deal is worth $31 million.

After six seasons with the New England Patriots, Wes Welker is leaving for the Denver Broncos. Welker and the Broncos agreed to terms on a two-year contract today, Broncos front office boss John Elway announced.
"Agreed to terms on a 2-yr deal with Wes Welker," Elway wrote. "Excited to have Wes join the Broncos. His production & toughness will be a great asset!"

| The Titans have added the two in their one-two punch at running back. It’s former Jets running back Shonn Greene, who agreed to a three-year, $10 million deal during his visit on Wednesday.
Greene, a four-year veteran, ran for 1,063 yards last season.
