Sit Start Injury Report Sunday Morning Week 11 2021

Every fantasy manager knows that injuries can have a huge impact on a fantasy team's performance.

That makes properly navigating each week's injury report a must. To assist in this effort, this weekly article series will analyze the fantasy football impact of the Friday and Saturday injury reports.

The injured players are noted by player position and then their injury status. Out means the player has been ruled out of this week's contest. Doubtful means the player is very unlikely to start. Questionable indicates the player might start. Start likelihood is increased if a player has participated in practices that week, so practice participation levels are frequently noted in these posts.

Let's look at the Week 11 injury report. The initial edition of this article is generated following the league's Friday injury report. It is then updated on Saturday night with any injury changes that have been posted since the Friday update.

Arizona at Seattle

Arizona injuries

WR DeAndre Hopkins: Out
G Justin Pugh: Out
S Budda Baker: Questionable
C Max Garcia: Questionable
QB Colt McCoy: Questionable
QB Kyler Murray: Questionable
Hopkins is going to miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury. Murray was able to post three limited practices this week and thus is trending towards starting in this game. That combination should add value to Christian Kirk as a WR2/WR3 candidate and A.J. Green as WR3/flex candidate, but confirm Murray is going to play before locking them into starting lineups.

Saturday night update: ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that Murray is likely going to miss this contest. That drops Kirk to WR3/flex status and makes Green a sit candidate.

Seattle injuries

S Jamal Adams: Questionable
CB D.J. Reed: Questionable
Seattle's defense has been playing much better of late after starting the year at an awful clip. Reed has been a notable part of that effort, so a groin injury that resulted in a limited practice on Thursday and a missed practice on Friday means a slight upgrade is in order for the Cardinals wide receivers as long as Murray plays. That upgrade goes even high in the case of Adams, as he is an all over the field playmaker who missed Friday's practice with a groin injury.

Another injury item of note for Seattle is that Chris Carson is now out for the year after having season-ending neck surgery.

Baltimore at Chicago

Baltimore injuries

DT Brandon Williams: Out
CB Anthony Averett: Questionable
WR Marquise Brown: Out
WR Devin Duvernay: Questionable
T Patrick Mekari: Questionable
RB Latavius Murray: Questionable
CB Jimmy Smith: Questionable
CB Tavon Young: Questionable
QB Lamar Jackson: Questionable
The Ravens defense has frequently struggled over the past five weeks and this slew of injuries on that side of the ball won't help matters. The cornerback woes and the injury to Allen Robinson (more on which below) should move Darnell Mooney into viable WR3 status. Brown's only practice time was a limited practice on Friday, so he may be a game time decision and will be a risky start prospect even if he is active. Murray had limited practices all week and thus is trending to play, but he may end up in a platoon with Devonta Freeman and thus has flex value.

Another injury related note is that Lamar Jackson did not appear on the final injury report after dealing with a non-COVID illness earlier in the week.

Saturday night update: Brown is now listed as out. Jackson was added back to the injury list as questionable with an illness.

Chicago injuries

DT Akiem Hicks: Out
WR Allen Robinson: Doubtful
S Eddie Jackson: Questionable
RB Damien Williams: Doubtful
Robinson had his best game of the 2021 season against the Steelers in Week 9, but the doubtful status means he likely won't be capitalizing on that momentum. These defensive injuries aren't the only news on that front for Chicago, as Khalil Mack was placed on injured reserve this week and is now out for the season.

Saturday night update: Williams was added to the injury report with a calf ailment that has him listed as doubtful for this contest.

Cincinnati at Las Vegas

Cincinnati injuries

The Bengals have no notable injuries.

Las Vegas injuries

CB Brandon Facyson: Questionable
RB Jalen Richard: Questionable
Facyson is the Raiders starting left cornerback who went from a full practice on Wednesday to limited practices the rest of the week due to finger and hamstring injuries. His banged-up status is a plus for Ja'Marr Chase and could help vault Chase to another dominant performance after relatively subpar point totals in Weeks 8-9.

Dallas at Kansas City

Dallas injuries

T Tyron Smith: Questionable
WR Amari Cooper: Out
Cooper was placed on the COVID-19 list and will be out for the next 10 days. His absence moves Michael Gallup to WR3 status and makes Cedrick Wilson a longshot option in deep leagues.

Kansas City injuries

T Lucas Niang: Out
CB L'Jarius Sneed: Questionable
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Questionable
The Chiefs possibly could activate Clyde Edwards-Helaire for this matchup, but that won't be clarified until Saturday. Niang is Kansas City's starting right tackle, so his absence makes the Chiefs passing game a bit riskier. Sneed had three limited practices this week, so he is likely to play.

Saturday night update: Edwards-Helaire was activated for this contest and is officially listed as questionable for this matchup. He may end up splitting the workload with Darrel Williams, so consider Edwards-Helaire a flex candidate and Williams a longer shot flex option.

Detroit at Cleveland

Detroit injuries

LB Trey Flowers: Out
RB Jermar Jefferson: Out
QB Jared Goff: Doubtful
WR Trinity Benson: Questionable
T Taylor Decker: Questionable
RB Jamaal Williams: Questionable
S Tracy Walker: Questionable
The injuries to Williams and Jefferson should assure that D'Andre Swift gets 20+ scrimmage plays this week, as he posted 36 touches last week against the Steelers. Those carries will have their value limited by Goff not being in the lineup and Decker potentially missing this game, although Decker could be a game time decision given his varied practice status this week.

Cleveland injuries

CB Troy Hill: Out
DE Takkarist McKinley: Questionable
WR Donovan Peoples-Jones: Questionable
Hill has been a hit or miss player in coverage for the Browns, but Cleveland has more than enough quality cornerback depth to hold up against a Lions offense that will be piloted by a backup quarterback. Peoples-Jones could have been a good longshot option against the shaky Detroit defense, but the groin injury that kept him out of practice once this week is enough to direct fantasy managers to look elsewhere for upside plays.

Green Bay at Minnesota

Green Bay injuries

T David Bakhtiari: Out
RB Aaron Jones: Out
WR Allen Lazard: Doubtful
Bakhtiari hasn't been able to play a snap this year, so this is just par for the course for him. AJ Dillon will get a chance to show his skills in a full-time role with Jones out and should rate as a borderline RB1.

Minnesota injuries

CB Bashaud Breeland: Questionable
Breeland has been a coverage liability this season, so the Vikings may actually be better off with Cameron Dantzler back in the lineup given how well he has played of late. It really doesn't impact the Packers fantasy wide receiver ranks, however, as Davante Adams is still the only player from that group worth starting.

Saturday night update: Patrick Peterson was activated from injured reserve and should be in the starting lineup on Sunday.

Houston at Tennessee

Houston injuries

The Texans have no notable injuries.

Tennessee injuries

G Nate Davis: Out
LB Bud Dupree: Out
LB Rashaan Evans: Out
LB David Long: Out
RB Jeremy McNichols: Out
CB Janoris Jenkins: Questionable
Dupree, Long, and Evans constitute three quarters of the Titans starting linebacking corps, so Houston may have a very good chance of rushing the ball in this contest. That could give David Johnson longshot start status in deeper leagues. McNichols being out of this matchup will send more carries to D'Onta Foreman and Adrian Peterson, so consider those two solid flex candidates this week. Jenkins has been less than stellar in coverage this year, so his addition to the injury report on Thursday with a chest injury and missed practice on Friday doesn't do much to upgrade the Texans receiving corps.

Saturday night update: Dupree was placed on injured reserve.

Indianapolis at Buffalo

Indianapolis injuries

LB Darius Leonard: Questionable
The man also known as Maniac had limited practices on Thursday and Friday and thus should be able to play. If Leonard does miss this game, every Buffalo fantasy prospect would get a slight upgrade, as Leonard is that integral to the Indianapolis defense.

Buffalo injuries

LB Tremaine Edwards: Questionable
Edmunds is the Bills leading tackler and was only able to put in a limited practice on Friday. If he ends up missing this game, it will result in a bit of a value spike for any Colts fantasy prospect.

Miami at New York Jets

Miami injuries

LB Andrew Van Ginkel: Questionable
DT Christian Wilkins: Questionable
Van Ginkel and Wilkins both participated in limited practices twice this week and thus should be able to play in this contest.

New York injuries

QB Zach Wilson: Doubtful
Joe Flacco will get the start in place of Wilson. It might be considered a lateral move for fantasy teams given the state of the Jets offense this year, as Flacco should be just as effective on the dink and dunk short passes that will drive New York's passing game.

New Orleans at Philadelphia

New Orleans injuries

T Terron Armstead: Out
T Ryan Ramczyk: Out
RB Alvin Kamara: Out
Mark Ingram will get the start in Kamara's absence. Being in this run-centric offense should provide Ingram with plenty of carries, but not having Armstead or Ramczyk to bookend this offensive line lowers Ingram to the RB2 tier.

Philadelphia injuries

DE Derek Barnett: Questionable
Barnett was added to the injury report on Friday with a neck ailment and thus is trending towards missing this game. Miles Sanders may or may not be activated from injured reserve for this contest, but that won't be clarified until Saturday.

Saturday night update: Sanders was activated from injured reserve, a move that downgrades Jordan Howard, Boston Scott, and Kenneth Gainwell to sit status in most leagues.

Pittsburgh at Los Angeles Chargers

Pittsburgh injuries

G Kevin Dotson: Out
CB Joe Haden: Out
LB T.J. Watt: Out
FS Minkah Fitzpatrick: Out On COVID-19 list
QB Ben Roethlisberger: Activated off the COVID-19 list
Fitzpatrick will likely miss this game unless he has two negative COVID tests in a 24-hour period prior to kickoff. Add that to Haden and Watt being out for this game and the Steelers D/ST is probably better suited for bench duty this week. Roethlisberger hasn't even been a QB2 candidate this year, but if he does miss this game, the drop-off between him and Mason Rudolph is enough to consider benching Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and Pat Freiermuth in many leagues.

Saturday night update: Roethlisberger was activated off the COVID-19 list and is going to play in this contest.

Los Angeles injuries

DT Linval Joseph: Doubtful
RB Justin Jackson: Doubtful
DE Joey Bosa: Activated off the COVID-19 list
DT Jerry Tillery: On COVID-19 list
LB Drue Tranquill: On COVID-19 list
DL Christian Covington: On COVID-19 list
The Chargers might have been a good D/ST start option if Roethlisberger misses this game, but this slew of COVID issues and Joseph's injury makes them a sit candidate. It could add value to Najee Harris and offset any downgrade that Harris may have seen if Roethlisberger is out for this matchup and Rudolph ends up starting.

Saturday night update: Ian Rapoport from NFL Network has reported that Bosa is slated to be activated from the COVID-19 list in time for this Sunday night game.

San Francisco at Jacksonville

San Francisco injuries

RB JaMycal Hasty: Out
RB Elijah Mitchell: Doubtful
These injuries vault Jeff Wilson, Jr. up to the starter's role in the 49ers backfield and should give him RB2 status versus the Jaguars.

Jacksonville injuries

RB James Robinson: Questionable
Robinson played through his heel injury and put in two limited practices this week, so it looks like he will be starting in this contest.

Washington at Carolina

Washington injuries

TE Ricky Seals-Jones: Out
CB Kendall Fuller: Questionable
WR Curtis Samuel: Questionable
CB Benjamin St-Juste: Questionable
Carolina isn't about to go pass-heavy no matter how much Cam Newton plays this week, but if Fuller and St-Juste miss this contest, it does move DJ Moore higher into the WR2 tier and could make Robby Anderson a viable candidate in deeper leagues.

Carolina injuries

The Panthers have no notable injuries.

New York Giants at Tampa Bay

New York injuries

WR Sterling Shepard: Out
RB Saquon Barkley: Questionable
RB Devontae Booker: Questionable
FS Logan Ryan: Out
Shepard's missed practice on Friday trends him towards not playing this week. Barkley's limited practice indicates he is on track to play, but the way the Giants have handled this backfield workload this season, Barkley is apt to be in a platoon with Booker as long as Booker's hip injury doesn't cause him to miss practice on Saturday. If Booker is out, the Giants would likely then lean on Barkley as the lead back. In either event, Barkley has RB2/flex value. Ryan is not likely to play in this contest, a factor that adds more upside to an already highly favorable matchup for the Buccaneers passing game.

Saturday night update: Shepard is out, so Darius Slayton moves up to a longshot flex candidate. Ryan is also now officially out. Barkley and Booker both had limited practices on Saturday, so they are on track to play.

Tampa Bay injuries

WR Antonio Brown: Out
DT Vita Vea: Doubtful
CB Dee Delaney: Questionable
WR Chris Godwin: Not on final injury report
DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches: Questionable
LB Jason Pierre-Paul: Not on final injury report
TE Rob Gronkowski: Questionable
Tampa Bay's D/ST already has some fantasy start risk due to some shaky performances of late and these injuries won't help matters. Brown hasn't played since Week 6 and is trending towards missing another start. Godwin played through this foot injury last week and there is little sign that he is going to miss this contest, so rate him as a borderline WR1.

Saturday night update: Brown is now listed as out and Vea is listed as doubtful. Godwin and Pierre-Paul were not on the final injury report and thus will play this week. Gronkowski was a Saturday night addition to the injury list, although it was listed as not injury related and just resting the player. Given that he practiced in full earlier in the week, Gronkowski is very likely to start this week and is a solid TE1.
