Recapping the Injuries week 7 2016

By Armando Marsal
Armando Marsal We had some significant injuries this week that can cause some notable players to potentially sit out multiple weeks. As usual, I will review some of the injuries that occurred in the weekend and the implications they may have on your fantasy teams. Let’s take a look at some of the injuries that occurred this week.

Brian Hoyer – Bears: Hoyer suffered a broken forearm in Thursday night’s loss to the Packers and underwent surgery, which will keep him out for at least six weeks. Jay Cutler will take over the signal calling duties in Hoyer’s absence when he is ready to do so as he is dealing with a thumb injury. Until Cutler can go, the Bears may have to lean on Matt Barkley.

LeSean McCoy – Bills: McCoy headed into Sunday’s game very questionable with a hamstring injury before ultimately getting the green light to start. He reaggrevated the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins and did not return to the game after that. This is a situation to monitor throughout the week, but initial reports suggest he could miss some time.

Geno Smith- Jets: Smith left Sunday’s game with a knee injury and was unable to return. Initial reports are that he is fine, but will undergo an MRI Monday. Once those results come in, there should be more information regarding the severity of the injury and how much time, if any at all, he will miss because of it.

Tevin Coleman – Falcons: Coleman suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Chargers and was unable to get back into the game. He was seen limping on the sidelines and then was taken back to the locker room. If Coleman misses any time, Devonta Freeman would get the bulk of the carries and become a near must start while Coleman is sidelined. This is something we will monitor for you all week and update you as we hear it.

Cody Kessler – Browns: Kessler left Sunday’s game after suffering a concussion. The Browns were forced to roll with Kevin Hogan for the remainder of the game and may have to lean on him if Kessler is forced to miss any time. Kessler will have to be cleared by the league’s concussion protocol before being able to play again. Stay tuned for his status.

Notable Players that briefly left game with injury, but returned:

Antonio Brown – Steelers: Thigh/hip
Mike Evans – Bucs: Took a big hit and stayed down for some time.
Terrance West – Ravens: Ankle
Jerick McKinnon – Vikings: Ankle
