Quick hits week 11 2017

By Chad Stapley
Chad Stapley Russell Wilson took a beating in a win over the Cardinals, taking five sacks. However, he still threw for 238 yards and two TDs to go with his 19 rushing yards. The offensive line is terrible, Wilson is amazing and should be started each week in any fantasy football league.

Outside of Wilson, the only two Seahawks that can be fantasy football roster worthy are Doug Baldwin & Jimmy Graham. Baldwin caught five passes for 95 yards and will forever be Wilson’s security blanket and Graham caught six passes for 27 yards and two TDs, proving he is Wilson’s favorite Red Zone target.

Drew Stanton is proving to be a decent backup in deeper fantasy football leagues, and double QB leagues. He isn’t going to blow you away with his performance, but he also isn’t going to lose you a game. Stanton threw for 273 yards and a TD this week in a narrow defeat to the Seahawks.

Larry Fitzgerald will not age, this week he caught 10 passes for 113 yards. He is one of the few good things the Cardinals have going for them this season.

This year in New Orleans it is all about Mark Ingram, they brought in some competition over the last two season that fueled his fire, and he is performing better than he ever has. This week he ran all over the otherwise stout Bills defense for the likes of 131 rushing yards and three TDs.

The guy that plays behind Ingram isn’t too bad either, Alvin Kamara is also putting on a show. Kamara ran the ball for 106 yards and a TD and also caught five passes for 32 yards. Both Saints RBs are surefire starters in any fantasy football league.

In case the Saints aren’t running the ball well, Drew Brees & Michael Thomas like to put on a show as well. Brees threw for 184 yards this week and Thomas caught nine passes for 117 yards. Both should be started each week, especially since they haven’t lost a game in months.

Just in case the people in Buffalo didn’t have more to worry about, the Bills decided to throw their backup QB, Nate Peterman in when they were already getting pummeled and he lit a fire under the offense. He went 7/10 for 79 yards and a TD. Look for more of him if the Bills continue to struggle on offense.

Brett Hundley gets better each week, this week he lead the Packers to a victory finally. Hundley threw for 212 yards and one TD. He isn’t going to blow you away with his stats, but he is getting better each week.

We could be in for a heavy dose of Jamaal Williams the rookie RB for the Packers as all of their other options have gotten hurt. This week he filled in and ran the ball 20 times for 67 yards.

The Bears need better WR’s, they went out and got Mitch Trubisky who is playing better each week since becoming the starter, and he is throwing to nobodies. The young QB went 21/35 for 297 yards and one TD this week. If he had some better talent to throw to these stats actually might turn into wins.

Through good and bad the Browns have got to stick with Deshone Kizer, as the young QB is going to make mistakes with the lack of talent surrounding him. He has absolutely nothing for him to throw to and his offensive line is suspect.

Matthew Stafford is having one hell of a season. This week he threw for 249 yards and three TDs. The Lions are going to be a scary offense to face come playoff time, assuming they make it.

JuJu Smith-Schuster continued his scoring ways this week by grabbing five passes for 97 yards and a TD. He is now very much a WR2 and should be started each week in any fantasy football league.

The Colts continue to lose, but you cannot blame that on first year starter Jacoby Brissett. Over the last three games the youngster has thrown for 763 yards with six TDs and two INTs. Brissett is making a serious case to be a starter on someone’s team in the NFL next year, can you imagine how could he could be with a full offseason under his belt? As of lately he is a low end QB1 for fantasy football terms.

The Chargers seem to find a new way to lose each week. Phillip Rivers threw for 235 yards and two TDs and still lost. They even got a surprise huge game from rookie RB Austin Ekeler who ran for 42 yards and caught five passes for 77 yards and two TDs. Ekeler looks like he will be getting more playing time in the future, so he might be someone to keep on your fantasy football bench for the next few weeks.

Andy Dalton & AJ Green are the only viable options to start on your fantasy football roster from the Bengals. Dalton threw for 265 yards and two TDs and Green caught five passes for 115 yards and a TD. The Bengals are a nightmare this year in general.

The DeMarco Murray vs Derick Henry battle for RB on the Titans is bad news for fantasy owners of either RB. Murray ran the ball 14 times for 42 yards and two TDs while also catching four passes for 30 yards and a TD and Henry ran the ball 11 times for 52 yards. This week Murray held the scoring edge but they are used pretty much the exact same and neither has outdone the other one thus far into the season.

Case Keenum isn’t going to be the starter at QB for the Vikings next year, but he is making a case to at least compete for the job elsewhere. In a huge win over Washington he threw for 304 yards and four TDs. Keenum is easily worth starting in the majority of fantasy football leagues.

Opposing defenses need to pick their poison on which Viking WR to double team, this week they gave a ton of attention to Stefon Diggs, holding him to four catches for 78 yards and a TD. This allowed Adam Thielen to have a career game catching eight passes for 166 yards and a TD.

It is the Jared Goff & Robert Woods show in LA and we are just along to watch. Goff threw for 355 yards to go with three TDs and Woods caught eight passes for 171 yards and two TDs. Both have clicked instantly and are a huge reason the Rams are doing so well offensively this season.

Tevin Coleman proved he is worth being a starting RB for someone in the future. He and Devonta Freeman have been sharing the ball for the last two season. This week Freeman got hurt and Coleman came in and ran the ball 20 times for 83 yards and a TD to go with one catch.

The Giants don’t really have much that is exciting lately, but Sterling Shepard catching 11 passes for 142 yards in a loss is something to look forward to. Shepard is a FLEX option at best given the state of the Giants football season.

The game looks too easy for Tom Brady at times. This week he made the Broncos defense look like a high school JV team. Brady threw for 266 yards and another three TDs.

You can never really count out Cam Newton. The Panthers got rid of their best WR a few weeks ago and Newton responded by having his best game this season. Newton threw for 254 yards and four TDs while also running for 95 yards.

The Panthers have turned the job of #1WR over to Devin Funchess and the second year WR performed admirably given that role. Funchess caught five passes for 92 yards and two TDs. He should be started each week on any fantasy team as the Panthers don’t have many receiving threats outside of him.
