Hunter Report Week 10 2017

By Dave Hunter
Dave Hunter Let’s get right to this week’s suggestions. Keep in mind that I use the DraftKings.com as the basis of my write-up and do not include Thursday, Sunday night or Monday games. Good luck!

Week 10:

QUARTERBACK

Top Level

Dak Prescott, DAL @ Atlanta Falcons ($7,300) – Let me say that I don’t believe there are any obvious top-notch QBs to go with this week in this sport. I like Prescott, but he’s top of the salary marker this week at a very reasonable $7.3K. QB is actually a pretty good value in Week 10, considering Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson are out for the year with injury. You can build around Prescott well in cash lineups. I dig the matchup and expect at least 250 yards and 2 TDs. Prescott is a very safe cash play.

Other choices: None

Mid-Range

Jared Goff, LAR vs. Houston Texans ($6,700) – The Rams offense is clicking as well as any in the NFL right now. Goff is developing into a good QB for the Rams and fantasy owners alike. What about as a DFS play? Goff is one of my favorite plays at QB this week. He may be a bit over-owned when it’s all said and done, although it’s possible he may fly under the radar with options like Matthew Stafford out there. Goff gets the Texans pass defense, which has been just terrible. The Texans have given up 16 TDs through the air so far, so feel good about locking Goff in for tournament and/or cash play.

Other choices: Drew Brees, NO @ Buffalo Bills ($6,900); Josh McCown, NYJ @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($6,100)

Value

Eli Manning, NYG @ San Francisco 49ers ($5,100) – There aren’t many of us that have a ton of confidence in Eli Manning right now, although he’s an interesting tournament option if you’re loading up on RB and WR. I’m going to build at least one lineup with Manning as my QB. The matchup is enticing as the Niners have a difficult time stopping any sort of offense. Don’t expect miracles, but Manning will exceed value for you if you’re willing to give him a whirl.

Other choices: Blake Bortles, JAC vs. Los Angeles Chargers ($4,800)

Over-Value

Matthew Stafford, DET vs. Cleveland Browns ($6,800) – I list Stafford here only because I think everyone will be all over him after his Week 9 performance and that he’s facing the hapless Browns. I won’t go as far as to say this is a trap game, although I don’t expect Stafford to go crazy. I won’t be surprised if this game ends up turning into a defensive battle.

RUNNING BACK

Top Level

Leonard Fournette, JAC vs. Los Angeles Chargers ($8,400) – Fournette should be plenty rested with suspension, bye week and injury all behind him now. The Chargers have allowed 135.1 yards per game this season on the ground, which means Fournette is going to rack up some fantasy points for DFS owners this week. I’ve got Fournette pegged for one of his best games of the season, and he may go a bit unnoticed this week with his absence and that the RB field in general is solid in Week 10.

Other choices: Ezekiel Elliott, DAL @ Atlanta Falcons ($8,800); Lesean McCoy, BUF vs. New Orleans Saints ($8,300)

Mid-Range

Alvin Kamara, NO @ Buffalo Bills ($6,900) – You’ve got to love what Kamara is doing in the passing game out of the backfield, right? Kamara is one of the reasons the Saints are so successful on offense this season, and this is with receiver Michael Thomas not living up to billing. Expect Drew Brees to continue to dump off to Kamara and for the Saints running game in general to be on point. I like Mark Ingram too, although his price tag is a bit iffy at $7.4K.

Other choices: Jerick McKinnon, MIN @ Washington Redskins ($6,600); Jordan Howard, CHI vs. Green Bay Packers ($6,100)

Value

Orleans Darkwa, NYG @ San Francisco 49ers ($4,500) – I like Darkwa for tournament play especially at this price tag, although he’s workable in any lineup really. Yes, the matchup is attractive, but the expectation for Darkwa is low and there aren’t going to be a ton of takers just on name recognition alone. We can use this to our advantage in a Studs-and-Duds lineup. I’m going to be happy with 80 yards and 1 TD.

Other choices: Lamar Miller, HOU @ Los Angeles Rams ($5,200); Derrick Henry, TEN vs. Cincinnati Bengals ($5,000); Joe Mixon, CIN @ Tennessee Titans ($4,900); Tevin Coleman, ATL vs. Dallas Cowboys ($4,800)

Over-Value

Le'Veon Bell, PIT @ Indianapolis Colts ($9,800) – Almost $10K for Bell is a bit much for me. Sure, there’s a chance he’ll live up to top-billing, although I’m not slotting so much of my cap dollars to one player. There’s value out there to fill out a roster, but not enough in my estimation to work around Bell reasonably.

WIDE RECEIVER

Top Level

A.J. Green, CIN @ Tennessee Titans ($7,700) – Since I’m listing Antonio Brown in the “Over Value” section, Green is the obvious choice for me at the top spot. We all know what happened last week with Green’s early exit, but he learned from this. Didn’t he? Expect Green to be targeted a ton by Andy Dalton and for him to find the end zone. It’s going to be a banner day for Green, who is someone I’m building around as a core player in my lineups.

Other choices: None

Mid-Range

Dez Bryant, DAL @ Atlanta Falcons ($6,900) – It seems like Bryant should find the end zone more, doesn’t it? Right now, he’s dealing with health issues, although I fully expect Dez to find his way into the starting lineup for the Cowboys. Dez is a moderate risk for owners this week. It’s obviously up to you if you roster Dez, even if he’s cleared to play and is ready to go. I think he’s more of a tournament play than anything and his ownership percentage will be lower than usual. Pay attention to the news before finalizing your lineups.

Other choices: Golden Tate, DET vs. Cleveland Browns ($6,800); Marvin Jones, Jr., DET vs. Cleveland Browns ($6,200); JuJu Smith-Schuster, PIT @ Indianapolis Colts ($5,600)

Value

Keenan Allen, SD @ Jacksonville Jaguars ($5,400) – Sometimes you have to ignore the matchups and look at what’s presented to you salary-wise. I like looking at obvious star players at value prices, just like T.Y. Hilton last week. His price was just too low for me to keep out of lineups. Allen is sort of the same deal, although the matchup is ridiculously awful facing the Jalen Ramsey and the Jags pass defense. Still, I’m going to squeak Allen in a tournament lineup or two, playing the contrarian strategy.

Other choices: Robby Anderson, NYJ @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($5,200); Robert Woods, LAR vs. Houston Texans ($5,000); Marqise Lee, JAC vs. Los Angeles Chargers ($4,100)

Over-Value

Antonio Brown, PIT @ Indianapolis Colts ($9,500) – Just like Le’Veon Bell above, feel free to use Brown in your lineup if you’re going to build around him with home run plays. Again, I find it difficult to roster Brown this week, just like Bell, at this price tag. Will the Steelers rack up so many points that Brown and Bell make it worthwhile to roster? That’s the question of the day, eh? I’m passing.

TIGHT END

Top Level

Evan Engram, NYG @ San Francisco 49ers ($6,200)

Mid-Range

Delanie Walker, TEN vs. Cincinnati Bengals ($5,000)

Value

Coby Fleener, NO @ Buffalo Bills ($2,600)

Over Value

Jordan Reed, WAS vs. Minnesota Vikings ($5,100)
