Fantasy Thoughts 2016 Week 8

By Chad Stapley
Chad Stapley Ka'Deem Carey might be a nice RB/FLEX option to pick up in deep leagues as he has continued to impress over the last few weeks.
With Jay Cutler coming back Alshon Jeffrey owners should feel better about his recent lack of production, Cutler and Jeffrey have a great connection on the field.

Aaron Rodgers is just fine, start him every week if you have him on your fantasy football team.

Ty Montgomery was the real star of the show proving that he can be a very nice addition to the Packers offense. Montgomery ran the ball nine times for 60 yards and caught 10 passes for 66 yards. With Eddie Lacy out, look for the youngster to get a ton of touches in the next few weeks.

Davante Adams had a monster game against the Bears catching 13 passes for 132 yards and two TDs. Adams could be a nice addition for your fantasy football team.

The Rams need to realize that Case Keenum isn’t going to take them anywhere and he is better suited as a very good backup QB.

Having said that, they also need to release Jared Goff and see what he has to offer since they drafted him #1 overall. At this point what do they have to lose?

Tavon Austin is an amazing FLEX player in any league. He runs the ball, catches passes, and is a return man. Every time the ball is in his hands he has a chance to score.

Brian Quick is a good WR to have on your bench in deep fantasy football leagues. He is a great WR3 or FLEX option when your starters have a BYE week.

It the Browns turn back to Kevin Hogan he has some nice upside in the running game. He is very raw when it comes to being a passer but he ran the ball seven times for 104 yards and a TD. He can only get better going forward.

The Bengals have a very good RB problem which is hurting fantasy football owners who have Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill. Both RBs are RB1 material and should be started each week but the Bengals tend to go with the hot hand and on a weekly basis that can spell bad news. Hill ran for 168 yards and a TD and Bernard ran for 80 yards and a TD.

A.J. Green is a monster and might be the best WR in the NFL right now. Green caught eight passes for 169 yards and a TD.

When the Lions needed him the most Matthew Stafford came up big throwing the game winning TD pass to beat Washington. Stafford is a fantasy football star and is having an amazing season.

Latavius Murray fantasy football owners rejoiced this week, his first week back from injury. Murray ran the ball for 59 yards and two TDs. Murray is a TD machine in the Red Zone. Start him until he gets hurt again as the Raiders lean on him heavily in the Red Zone.

Michael Crabtree moved across the bay and became the player the 49ers drafted him to be. Crabtree caught eight passes for 96 yards and a TD. He is a very nice compliment to Derek Carr and Amani Cooper.

Blake Bortles had an ugly outing against the Raiders but the play calling was really the problem. The Jaguars called 43 pass plays to just 16 run plays. Any QB is going to have a tough time airing it out when they don’t even attempt to run the ball. Why in the world did they sign Chris Ivory in the offseason to only give him five carries?

Marqise Lee can be a nice addition as a WR3 as he has really started to get better each week. Last week he caught six passes and this week he caught seven passes for 107 yards.

Drew Brees is doing all he can to try and get the Saints a victory. This week he threw for 367 yards and three TDs and the Saints still lost. The defense is almost nonexistent. Brees has been a monster all season long and should be started on any fantasy football roster each week.

The rookie Saints WR Michael Thomas had another huge game catching 10 passes for 130 yards. He is becoming a real threat each week. He could be a nice addition for your bench.

All Kansas City needs to continue to do is feed the beast they have in Spencer Ware. The young RB ran the ball 17 times for 77 yards and he caught two passes for 54 yards and a TD. Ware is a fantasy football star and should be started each week.

Jay Ajayi put the NFL on notice with his second straight week of running for over 200 yards. This week he embarrassed the Bills defense for the likes of 214 rushing yards and a TD. He is the biggest reason the Dolphins have won two games in a row. He took a little bit to get going but now that he is hot you should start him on your fantasy football team each week.

Kenny Stills is very inconsistent but in a deep league he can be a nice bench piece to compliment your starters.

Marquise Goodwin for the Bills seems to be getting better as the season moves forward. He was the lone bright spot for the Bills this week as he caught four 93 yards and a TD.

Outside of Mike Wallace who is having a pretty decent season, the entire Ravens roster is in a serious void of talent. Wallace on the other hand caught 10 passes for 120 yards.

For the Jets sake let’s hope that Ryan Fitzpatrick and Matt Forte continue to play as well as they did against the Ravens. Fitzpatrick came off the bench to throw for 120 yards and a TD and Forte ran for 100 yards and a TD to go with his 54 receiving yards and another TD.

Andrew Luck had one of his better games of the season throwing for 353 yards and three TDs. Luck has the pieces on offense to be a huge fantasy football contributor each week.

Jack Doyle might be worth starting at TE on your fantasy football team, especially if Andrew Luck keeps leaning on him so heavily. This week Doyle caught nine passes for 78 yards and a TD.

Melvin Gordon is having a monster sophomore season. This week he ran for 68 yards and two TDs, which gives him eight for the year through only five games started.

Start LeGarrette Blount and Tom Brady on your fantasy football teams until they are stopped by any defense in the NFL. Blount ran wild over the Steelers for 127 yards and two TDs and Brady threw for another two TD passes.
