Fantasy Thoughts 2016 Week 7

By Chad Stapley
Chad Stapley Devontae Booker might be a nice RB addition in a deep fantasy football league. The rookie ran the ball five times for 46 yards and caught a couple of passes. If CJ Anderson continues to struggle watch for Booker to get more touches.

Melvin Gordon is looking night and day better than his rookie campaign. He has been one of the most consistent RBs in the NFL. Gordon has 393 yards rushing and six TDs through four games started. He should be a starter on your fantasy football team each week.

Hunter Henry is finally proving he is worthy of being a starting TE on any fantasy football team. The youngster has great hands and the Chargers are fresh out of reliable WRs so he should get plenty of action. Start him at TE or FLEX in deep fantasy football leagues.

Colin Kaepernick didn’t look great in his first start but he is a viable backup option or an option if your fantasy football league plays two QBs. He should only get better and he adds the running component to his value.

Tyrod Taylor continues to get better each week. This week he destroyed the 49ers for two TD passes and 68 rushing yards. He and LeSean McCoy are a handful to handle for opposing defenses trying to stack against the run.

Blake Bortles needs some help from the running game because he has almost no time to throw the ball. When Chris Ivory and TJ Yeldon rush for 53 yards combined it is going to be tough for Bortles to throw the ball.

Since Brian Hoyer became the QB for the Bears the entire offense looks much better. Hoyer threw for 302 yards this week with his favorite target being Cameron Meredith. Meredith caught 11 passes for 113 yards.

Alshon Jeffery
has also seen a nice fantasy football point increase with Hoyer running the show at QB.

If the Rams somehow don’t win the division you cannot put the blame on Case Keenum who is quietly having a nice season. Keenum threw for 321 yards and three TDs in a loss to Detroit. He has proven that he is a capable starting QB in any fantasy football league.

Kenny Britt is the biggest beneficiary of the improved QB play of Keenum as he is performing better each week. Britt caught seven passes for 136 yards and two TDs this week and is a serious threat in fantasy football finally.

Matthew Stafford has been nothing short of amazing this season and he is the main reason the Lions are still fighting. Stafford threw for four TDs this week and 270 yards in a victory. Start him on your fantasy football team until he gets hurt or gives you a reason not to start him.

Zach Zenner is finally making a splash in fantasy football after the Lions decided to give him the ball more. Zenner ran 14 times for 58 yards and caught two passes for 19 yards. He should only get better as the season goes on.

Landry Jones just became the man in Pittsburgh and he could have some serious potential with the offensive talent he has surrounding him.

Jay Ajayi finally had the game the Dolphins envisioned him having when they drafted him. He ran the ball 25 times for 204 yards and two TDs. He should continue on this tear if they keep feeding him the ball.

Tom Brady has been absolutely flawless since he returned from suspension. This week he threw for 376 yards and another three TDs. Start him and watch him lead you to victory for your fantasy football team.

Rob Gronkowski has to love that Brady is back as he caught seven passes for 162 yards and a TD. His value will only continue to go up as they continue to win.

Outside of A.J. Green I wouldn’t trust any of the Bengals roster as a starter on any fantasy football team.

Cam Newton did everything in his power to get a win this weekend over the Saints but he still could not get it done. Newton threw for 322 yards and two TDs and ran for another TD. He is still worthy of being a starter in any fantasy league.

Jonathan Stewart had a nice comeback game running for 85 yards and two TDs. Start him every week that he is available.

If the Saints didn’t have Drew Brees they would be in for a world of hurt. Brees threw for 465 yards and four TDs in a win over the Panthers. Brees is putting up insane fantasy football numbers.

Brandin Cooks is a big reason why Brees has looked so good this year, the WR caught seven passes for 173 yards and a TD. Cooks is having a monster season.

Michael Thomas is proving that he might be starter worthy in deep leagues as he caught five passes for 78 yards and a TD.

Terrance West does not look like he is going to slow down anytime soon, West looks like one of the better RBs in the NFL right now. This week he ran for 87 yards and two TDs. Start him every week.

It’s the Eli Manning & Odell Beckham Jr. show in New York and it looks pretty. Manning threw for 403 yards and three TDs and ODJ caught eight passes for 222 yards and two TDs.

Cody Kessler is looking like he is definitely worthy of being a starting QB in the NFL. This week he almost led the Browns to a victory by throwing for 336 yards and two TDs. He is absolutely worth a start in a two QB league.

Marcus Mariota continues to impress as of lately and the Titans are winning because of him. This week he threw for three TDs and ran for 64 yards. Start him every week until the Titans start to sputter.

Spencer Ware is an animal and Kansas City should be careful of taking the ball away from him when he is running so hot. Ware ran for 131 yards and a TD this week and is a big reason they won this week.
