J.D. McKissic- RB- Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks’ running back situation is up in the air, and J.D. McKissic made his case last weekend against the Colts when rookie running back Chris Carson left the game with a leg injury. McKissic rushed the ball four times for 38 yards and a score, and a caught one target for 27 yards and a touchdown. McKissic will have to share the load with Eddie Lacy, CJ Posise (if he returns this week) and possibly Thomas Rawls if he isn’t a healthy scratch this week. McKissic could see a much larger role if Prosise doesn’t suit up, so pick him up for a buck this week.

Austin Ekeler- RB- Chargers

One player for Melvin Gordon owners to consider is running back Austin Ekeler. The running back out of Western State might be the game changer the Chargers need to open up their offense. He only has one carry on the season, but he took it 35 yards for a touchdown. He also has five receptions for 47 yards. Ekeler looked good in preseason, but has barely seen the field in the first four weeks of the season. With Melvin Gordon battling with a knee injury, Ekeler might be a guy fantasy owners want to target in this week’s waiver wire for a dollar.

Trent Taylor- WR- 49ers

The 49ers have two real threats on offense between Pierre Garcon and Carlos Hyde, but Trent Taylor is starting to see his workload get bigger each week. In the last two weeks, Taylor has eight receptions for 79 yards and a score. Last week against the Cardinals, Taylor caught 5/10 targets for 47 yards. He’s not a player you’re going to want to start in non-PPR leagues, but he might be someone who could fill-in for an injured player in a full PPR league. Dynasty and keeper owners should definitely consider picking up Taylor for a buck this week.

Josh Doctson- WR- Red Skins

The former first round pick from TCU, Josh Doctson, looks like he’s finally healthy enough to play a consistent role in the Red Skin’s offense. He only played 17 out of 50 snaps on Monday night against the Chiefs, but recorded a season high two receptions for 27 yards. He would have had a third reception for a possible game-winning touchdowns had he not dropped the ball with less than a minute remaining in the game. Doctson has huge upside and little risk to fantasy owners. In week 3 against the Raiders, Doctson had a 52 yards touchdown catch. Considering Terrelle Pryor Sr and Jamison Crowder are not having the season’s fantasy owners expected, Doctson will have a real chance to become the main guy in Washington. Get him now for a buck.

Andrew Luck- QB- Colts

Fantasy owners should not forget about Andrew Luck going into the rest of the season. You may have to stash him on your bench for a couple weeks, but the possible outcome with Luck as your starting quarterback could be huge. While Luck has dealt with injuries the last two years, many people forget that he led the Colts to an AFC championship game and led the league in passing touchdowns back in 2014. Even last year, Luck threw for over 4,000 yards and recorded 31 touchdowns. He is expected to return to practice this week, and fantasy owners might be able to snag him for a buck if you’re lucky (no pun intended).

Aaron Jones- RB- Packers

Ty Montgomery might be out this Sunday against the Cowboys, so fantasy owners should consider picking up Aaron Jones. Last week against the Bears, Jones had 13 carries for 49 yards and a score. He is line to start this Sunday and Aaron Rodgers has told reporters that he’s confident in the young running back from BYU. The Packers face Dallas this week, whose defense has given up the 7th most fantasy points to running backs this season. With Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams out this weekend, fantasy owners should pick up and start Jones.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins- TE- Jets

While I hate this player (not as a person), former Buccaneer Austin Seferian-Jenkins might be a player fantasy owners want to consider picking up for no more than a dollar. In the last two weeks, he has 9/10 receptions for 77 yards, and last week against the Jaguars, he recorded four receptions for 46 yards. The ONLY reason I think he might be a good start this weekend is because the Jets are playing the Browns, whose defense has given up the second most fantasy points to tight ends this season. Pick Seferian-Jenkins up for one week if you are in desperate need of a tight end, and then drop him before week 6.

Elijah McGuire- RB- Jets

With Matt Forte likely out for a second straight week due to a toe injury, Elijah McGuire should see a good amount work this Sunday against the Browns. Last week McGuire broke out with 21 carries for 163 yards and a score. He also caught four balls for 27 yards. Bilal Powell will get the start on Sunday, but McGuire might be a player you want to start if one of your running backs is on a bye week. The Jets want to run the ball as much as possible and both running backs should see a good amount of work Sunday. Pick up McGuire while he’s still available.
