Dollar Free Agents 2016 Week 4

By Matthew Cherrin
Matthew Cherrin Trevor Siemian- QB- Broncos
The Broncos Trevor Siemian didn’t have the best first two weeks as a fantasy football quarterback, but last week against the Bengals he recorded 312 yards and four touchdowns through the air. In Week 4, the Broncos face Tampa Bay, who has given up the 5th most points to fantasy quarterbacks so far in 2016. Siemian has a ton of quality targets in Denver, and also has one of the best offensive lines in the league. Siemian is a player who needs to be picked up in all leagues, including non-dynasty. You might be able to grab him this week for a buck.

Justin Hardy- WR- Falcons
While the Falcons have a ton of talented players on offense, Justin Hardy might be a player that fantasy owners should keep an eye on. The rookie from East Carolina recorded his second touchdown on Monday night against the Saints. He only has four receptions for 34 yards, but he has scored in consecutive weeks. Hardy isn’t a player to pick up in a standard 15 man roster-league, but if you are in a dynasty or keeper league, look at picking up Hardy this week for a buck. He might end up being a real focus for Matt Ryan as the season goes on.

Orleans Darkwa- RB- Giants
Rashad Jennings didn’t play last week for the Giants, and Shane Vereen fumbled his ways out of playing-time last week against the Red Skins. Orleans Darkwa filled in for both running backs for a large part of the game. He had 53 yards off 10 rushing attempts and one touchdown. Vereen now has torn triceps, and Jennings could back this week, though last week’s absence was unexpected. Either way, Jennings annually goes out with an injury at some point in the season, and Darkwa could be the beneficiary. Pick him up this week for a buck.

Tommylee Lewis- WR- Saints
Willie Snead missed Monday night’s game with a hurt toe, and Tommylee Lewis out of Northern Illinois saw some playing time because of the injury. Lewis isn’t a big target at all. He’s 5-7 and 168 pounds, but QB Drew Brees found him three times Monday night for 43 yards. While Lewis still has a long-way at become a starting wide out in the NFL, you might want to consider stashing him on the bench if you are in a dynasty league. He was recommended to the Saints by Bill Parcels, which tells me that he has a ton of potential that needs to be developed. He won’t play in week 4 that much, but get him for a buck and stash him on the bench.

Paul Perkins- RB- Giants
While New York’s Orleans Darkwa looks to be the immediate pick up for week 4, Paul Perkins might be the sleeper out of all the running backs on the Giants roster. Hs’s been utilized as a special team player thus far in 2016, but with Shane Vereen and Rashad Jennings injured, the Giants plan on using a running back by committee approach with Darkwa, Bobby Rainy and Perkins. Perkins should only be picked up in dynasty and keeper leagues. Pick up the 5th round pick from UCLA this week for a buck.

Zach Miller- TE- Bears
The Bears TE Zach Miller didn’t have much success in the first two weeks of 2016 when Jay Cutler was quarterback. Brain Hoyer stepped in for the hurt Cutler on Sunday night and Miller tripled his production in one game. Last week against the Cowboys, Miller had eight receptions for 78 yards and two scores. The Bears face off against the Lions on Sunday, and Detroit has given up the most fantasy points to tight ends so far in 2016. Through three games, the Lions have given five touchdowns to tight ends. Pick up Miller this week and start him.
