Quarterbacks

Marcus Mariota vs. Jets ($5,200)

It’s a beautiful thing to watch Marcus Mariota on his hot streak. He completed 22-of-23 for two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Jonnu Smith has replaced Delanie Walker nicely recently and Corey Davis is emerging as one of the best young wide receivers in the game. He’ll get a middle of the road Jets secondary at home in a game the Titans should win easily. I’m comfortable using Mariota in cash games and tournaments.

Kirk Cousins @ Patriots ($5,500)

The Vikings are a five point road dog week 13 at New England, in a game that Vegas has scoring nearly 50 points. The Patriots have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL and Kirk Cousins has two of the best wide receivers in the league at his disposal in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. The Patriots have had difficulty with opposing tight ends as well. Week 12 he completed 29-of-38 passes for 342 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Cousins has a propensity to turn the ball over and the Patriots apply some of the best pressure in the game. It will be no easy task at Gillette. I love him in tournaments at his price tag. A stack with one of his favorite wide receivers and Kyle Rudolph makes perfect sense.

Running backs

Gus Edwards @ Falcons ($4,800)

I’ll be honest, feels a little like chasing points expecting Gus Edwards to all of a sudden be Jamaal Lewis. That being said, we like to pay for volume on the cheap and that is precisely what we are getting here with Edwards. He’s had 40 total carries and over 110 rushing Yards over the last two games. The Ravens will get a Falcons run defense that is giving up 123 yards per game. He has Zero involvement in the passing game and that will limit his upside a bit. I’m fine using him in cash games. He’ll be leaned on heavily.

Kenyan Drake vs. Bills ($4,600)

The Dolphins have been decimated with injuries on offense and the only semblance of fire power has been Kenyan Drake in sporadic bursts. He’s second on the team in targets and he’ll get a middle of the road Bills run defense that is giving up 111 yards per game on the ground. There wasn’t a better running back in the NFL the last five games of 2017. His touches vary week to week and that is concerning but with thirteen games on the main slate he’ll be a fantastic tournament play at a cheap price.

Bonus running backs: Spencer Ware, T.J. Yeldon.

Wide Receivers

Chris Godwin vs. Panthers ($3,900)

DeSean Jackson (thumb) has been ruled out week 13 against the Panthers. The highly regarded Chris Godwin should slide in nicely to fill the void. When DeSean Jackson missed the final two weeks of 2017, Godwin filled in nicely catching 10 of 18 targets for 208 yards. His catch rate is superb and appears to be the future at wide receiver for the Bucs. Las Vegas has this game at the third highest point total of the week (54.5). Im comfortable using him in cash games and tournaments.

Demaryius Thomas vs. Browns ($4,300)

It was nice seeing DT involved week 12 and score twice as the Texans rolled the Titans. Call me old school and a creature of habit by sometimes gravitating towards veterans like Demaryius Thomas and Larry Fitzgerald at cheap prices. Their upside historically can be as high as anyones. Keke Coutee is a game time decision that would obviously bolster DT’s value against the Browns. The Browns are giving up 298 yards per game through the air. There hasn’t been enough consistency with Deshaun Watson yet but he’s a heck of a Crate tournament play.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith vs. Jets ($3,300)

Jonnu Smith has caught three touchdowns in his last four games. He’s making up for lost time after being noticeably absent the first eight weeks of the season. Outside of Corey Davis, the Titans need a playmaker and historically its been Delanie Walker. Without Walker, Smith can be a security blanket for Marcus Mariota. He’s no doubt a athletic specimen and his price is beautiful.

Kyle Rudolph @ Patriots ($3,600)

The Patriots have been terrible against tight ends so far this season allowing seven to the opposition and giving up 63 yards per game to the position. Kyle Rudolph fits the mold nicely here while many people will zero in on Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, Rudolph makes a nice pivot or additions to one of those wide outs. His touchdowns are not where they typically have been in years past, but like home runs in baseball, they’ll come. I bet he gets in the end zone Sunday in a game that could easily shoot out.

Defense/Special teams

Rams @ Lions ($2,600)

Aqib Talib will play on Sunday and the Lions will be without Marvin Jones and Kerryon Johnson. Matthew Stafford could be on his back a ton Sunday while forced to play catch up in a game that the Rams should be up early.
