Cash Game Breakdown:

Week 1

QB:

Case Keenum (5,000)
Seattle’s Defense has changed immensely but they're going to be strong versus the run-funneling offense to the pass. They’re also going to continue to bring pressure. In 2017, Minnesota’s Case Keenum (58.5) led all quarterbacks in QBR under pressure. Keenum also led all quarterbacks in Football Outsiders’ passing Defense-adjusted Value Over Average metric, which measures quarterback efficiency. This bodes well for attacking a Seattle secondary that no longer is anchored by Richard Sherman.

RB:

Alvin Kamara (8,500)
The Saints have the highest implied team total on the board at 29.5. They are also a 9.5 point favorite. With Ingram out of the fold for the first four weeks due to a suspension, and Terrance West and Jonathan Williams recently cut, so Kamara should see an immediate usage bump. Not only should Kamara see the rock late due to the favorable game script, but he should also be pretty active in the passing game as the bucs strong front seven funnels usage to the pass Kamara is utilized so heavily in the passing game.

WR:

Chris Hogan (6,000)
Hogan has wide receiver one upside at an extremely depressed price. Through the first 5 games last season Hogan was fifth amongst all Wide Receivers in PPR formats. In week 3 last season he burned Houston for two TD’s. Hogan should see a considerable usage bump week 1 do to Edelman’s suspension and the loss of Danny Amendola and Dion Lewis this offseason.

TE:

Jordan Reed (4,000)
Alex Smith has always favored his tight ends and with Patrick Peterson taking away his number one option he should look Reeds way early and often. While Jordan Reed is never a fun Roster in cash games, it’s week 1, and he should be as healthy as he’ll be all season.

D:

Chargers (2,800)

The Chargers are home favorites going up against first year starter Patrick Mahomes in Week 1. While the Chargers struggled against the run last season but they should be able to stack the box against the rookie Quarterback. Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa can get after the quarterback with the best of them.
