Week 14 DFS Flex Plays DraftKings 2016

On DraftKings, there is a flex spot which allows you to take different approaches in your lineup construction. Our goal every week is to find you some solid options that fit in the flex position and provide some nice upside. Let’s dive right into some flex targets for this week.

Running Back

Latavius Murray $5,200 at Kansas City Chiefs
Despite overall good numbers against running backs, Kansas City has struggled against them as of late. In the last three games, running backs are averaging 29.7 carries and 100 rushing yards per game against the Chiefs. Another thing that has my attention about Murray this week is that he has set season highs in touches in consecutive weeks and now has 20+ touches in three of his last four games, scoring six touchdowns over that stretch. In addition, he accounts for 66.7 percent of the red zone rushes giving him plenty of touchdown upside. He has scored at least one touchdown in all but three games this season. He plays on Thursday night so if you want to roster him, make sure to get him in before lineups lock.

Lamar Miller $5,100 at Indianapolis Colts
Miller has had a rocky season, but is in a very good spot this week against the Colts who he absolutely dominated against in their last meeting. In Week 6 against them, he carried the ball 24 times for 149 yards and a touchdown, as well as, caught three passes for 29 yards and a touchdown. It was by far the best game of the season as he scored 35.8 points. Indianapolis is allowing 92.1 rushing yards per game and seven rushing touchdowns, as well as, 4.4 receptions and 41.9 receiving yards per game to go along with five receiving touchdowns. Miller comes at a very affordable price and possesses plenty of upside in a favorable situation, making him an enticing tournament play this week.

Wide Receiver

Kenny Britt $5,200 vs. Atlanta Falcons
Britt has quietly put together a solid season. He is averaging 7.3 targets, 4.7 receptions, 71.3 receiving yards, and 14.7 fantasy points per game. He has received at least six targets in all but one game this season and has scored double-digit fantasy points in able but three games. This week he has a favorable matchup against the Falcons who are giving up 13.9 receptions and 163.9 receiving yards per game, while allowing 14 receiving touchdowns to receivers. The Rams are six point underdogs so they could be chasing points in this contest, which should create some extra target opportunities for Britt. He will likely go overlooked and offers a solid floor with decent upside at a reasonable price.

Tyler Boyd $4,900 at Cleveland Browns
Weather will play a factor in this contest so make sure to look at it prior to lock as it is expected to snow. If that is the case, we have to pivot elsewhere. However, if the weather is not as bad, Boyd is an intriguing option this week against an atrocious Browns defense. Cleveland is giving up 11.8 receptions and 170.4 receiving yards per game to receivers, while yielding 17 touchdowns. Boyd 7.7 targets, five receptions, 60.7 receiving yards, and 13.1 fantasy points over his last three games. He comes at less than $5,000 in a juicy matchup and playing well. Let’s hope the weather cooperates in this contest.

Tight End

Jason Witten $3,100 at New York Giants
If history repeats itself, Witten should be in for a big game. He has played well against the Giants throughout his career, averaging 5.3 receptions and 54.2 receiving yards while scoring 13 touchdowns in 27 games. However, it has been in recent years that he has had even more success against them. Since 2013 (seven games), he has scored seven touchdowns. In the season opener, Witten caught nine passes for 66 yards against this Giants defense. New York has allowed +4.3 points above expectations to opposing tight ends and are giving up 5.8 receptions and 69.5 receiving yards, while surrendering three touchdowns. Witten is coming off of an awful outing, but is in a good shot to bounce back and recency bias may cause his ownership to be depressed, making him an interesting tournament play.
