Startem sitem 2016 week 7 Thursday

Cameron Meredith WR CHI GB START
Green Bay's run defense is solid … unless they play Ezekiel Elliott. I suspect the Bears will need to pass, however. Meredith has developed into a very solid option opposite Jeffery and Royal may miss this game leaving few other options.

Jordan Howard RB CHI GB SIT
Howard's star is starting to fade. I still like him as a find for the Bears, but GB has been very difficult against the run. To be fair, other than Elliott, they haven't really faced elite running backs unless you count Adrian Peterson in week 1. Howard could be the 2nd best back they've face this year. I still expect it to be a rough road for Howard this week.

Ty Montgomery WR GB CHI START
Montgomery exploded on the scene last week taking many snaps from the RB position with Starks being injured. That role should continue this week with now Lacy out and Starks not back. GB did add Knile Davis and activated Don Jackson. But, I suspect that doesn't change things alot for Montgomery. There is also Davante Adams' injury that could help him as well - although Jeff Janis came in for Adams it seemed.

In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Drew Brees each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3-6 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going. This year I'm going to be looking at different ways to integrate daily fantasy pricing and Vegas odds into my decision making process. Good Luck this year!
