Recapping the Injuries week 8 2016

By Armando Marsal
Armando Marsal As usual, I will review some of the injuries that occurred in the weekend and the implications they may have on your fantasy teams. Let’s take a look at some of the injuries that occurred this week.

Spencer Ware – Chiefs: Ware left Sunday’s game against the Colts after suffering a concussion. This is a big blow for Ware and the Chiefs as Jamaal Charles is sidelined with a knee injury. Ware will have to be cleared by the league’s concussion protocol before stepping back on the field. Charcandrick West will be the next man up if Ware misses any time.

Jacquizz Rodgers – Bucs: Late in the fourth quarter Rodgers limped off the field and was later ruled out in overtime. There are no details regarding the severity of the injury at this time, but the Bucs are on a short week, so this is something to keep a close eye on. With Doug Martin also out due to a hamstring injury, the Bucs could run a committee between Peyton Barber and Antone Smith if Rodgers misses the next game.

Alex Smith- Chiefs: Smith left early in the first quarter after taking a big him and was evaluated for a concussion, but returned to the game shortly after. Then in the second half he took another hit and was ruled out for the remainder of the game and suffered a concussion. Nick Foles stepped in for the injured Smith and would be the favorite to be under center for the Chiefs should Smith miss a game. At this time, Smith will have to clear the league’s concussion protocol before getting back on the field.

Will Fuller – Texans: Fuller, who has been hampered by a hamstring injury, suffered a leg injury in Week 8 against the Lions. He exited the game and never returned. No post game report regarding the injury came out, so it is something to keep an eye on throughout the week. Fuller who got off to a hot start this season, has cooled down since.

DeSean Jackson – Redskins: Jackson left Sunday’s game in the third quarter with what appears to be a head injury. He was evaluated for a concussion, but returned to the sidelines, suggesting the he did not suffer a concussion. That being said, he never returned to the game. We should know more regarding the injury early in the week, but it is something worth monitoring.

Notable Players that briefly left game with injury, but returned:
Devontae Booker – Broncos: Shoulder
T.Y. Hilton – Colts: Hamstring
Ryan Fitzpatrick – Jets: Possible Concussion
C.J. Fiedorowicz – Texans: Possible Concussion
