Following up on a previous item. ... Receiver Hakeem Nicks will miss his third consecutive game.
As reported by Profootballtalk.com, Nicks, who has been dealing with a knee injury, has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Browns.
Head coach Tom Coughlin said he didn’t think Nicks’s knee was improving and as PFT's Michael David Smith suggests, the fact that the Giants are ruling him out already indicates that they don’t think it’s going to improve soon.
Although Nicks had a tremendous game in Week 2, catching 10 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown in a comeback win over the Buccaneers, he hasn’t played since then. The Giants have said they are not concerned about the foot injury that caused Nicks to miss most of the offseason, but the knee is clearly becoming a concern.
Meanwhile, Ramses Barden may miss Sunday’s game with a concussion, which would leave Domenik Hixon as the receiver to start opposite Victor Cruz.
