The Facts: Morris had no trouble swinging a bat, playing catch and running the bases during Kevin Faulk's charity softball game Saturday night. Based on looks alone, Herald staffer Karen Guregian believes he appears fully healed from the freak injury that ended his season prematurely last year.
Diehards Line:Morris, who suffered a sternum clavicle separation in the third quarter of the Patriots' win at Dallas on Oct. 14, sounded equally encouraged by the status of his injury. The running back feels he'll be ready to go today when passing camp starts in Foxboro. "I feel pretty good," Morris said. "I've been in the offseason program 100 percent. I haven't had any setbacks or anything. ..." Before the injury, Morris had compiled consecutive 100-yard rushing efforts and was the team's leading ball carrier (85 carries, 384 yards, three touchdowns). Morris has been working out and lifting weights for several months without any difficulty.
