The Facts: Elam has agreed to a four-year, $9 million deal with the Falcons, according to his Atlanta-based agent Jack Reale.

Diehards Line:The acquisition of Elam, 38, means that reliable veteran kicker Morten Andersen, 47, will not return to the Falcons, where he has been nearly automatic from 43 yards in for a team that has had trouble scoring the past two seasons.
