The Facts: NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the twice-suspended Bryant is simply "waiting for the doctors and the counselors, people who saw him, to hand in their letters, get the paperwork cleared with the NFL, have the league process that, and then make him officially conditionally reinstated." Official word could come down in the "next couple of days," Rapoport said.
Diehards Line:
Bryant missed the entire 2016 season due to a violation of the league's policy on substances of abuse. He was conditionally reinstated back in late April. As NFL.com notes, this is not the end of the process for the former fourth-round pick out of Clemson. Rapoport reported that part of the hold up on Bryant was the setting up of counseling sessions, which have now been taken care of. He must continue those throughout the process to maintain his reinstatement. The Steelers and fantasy owners have been looking forward to his return for more than a full calendar year, eyeing a much-needed boost to their receiving corps behind Antonio Brown. We'll be watching for the official word.
