The Facts: The newest member of the Titans made the absolute best of a bad situation. Decker was a late release by the woebegone Jets earlier this month, took one visit to his now-hometown Titans in Nashville and signed a contract with a team that could very well end up making the playoffs in 2017. "It was kind of a perfect storm," Decker said. "You only get so many years to play this game, and I wanted to find the right fit. I wanted to come to a place where I can help out, and this is home."
Diehards Line:
He added: "There were a lot of factors. This is a team on the rise, and I like the coaching staff, the GM, and the philosophy upstairs. I like the quarterback, the locker room and the mentality. When I talked to the GM and the coaches, finding out what they wanted out of me, what my role would be, Tennessee was the best opportunity." As NFL.com notes, Decker went from playing in a rebuild to being a part of one of the league's most dynamic offenses. Tennessee has invested heavily in the receiver position this offseason to diversify Marcus Mariota's set of targets -- something that could provide Decker with a few more favorable matchups than he's used to.
