The Facts: What do you do after you post the best season of your career? What do you do when you lead the league in a major statistical category? What do you do when your production through five seasons rivals that of the Hall of Famer who preceded you? If you're Hilton, the answer is unequivocal: Do more.
Diehards Line:As the Colts’ minicamp winds down and summer break beckons, the team’s Pro Bowl wide receiver is putting the finishing touches on an offseason he hopes will help his expanding game continue to grow. After leading the NFL in receiving yards in 2016, not to mention turning in five-year numbers on par with Colts great Marvin Harrison, Hilton seems wary of the dangers of getting comfortable. According to Star staffer, Hilton is becoming a smarter football player. A more detailed player, too. Fast and shifty can only take you so far. Hilton has come to learn it’s the little things that will take him to the next level — wherever that might be. With the help of new receivers coach Sanjay Lal, Hilton is embarking on his next frontier. “Coach Sanjay is doing a great job of just pushing me and working with my route running,” Hilton said. “And I’ve seen it get better. He’s more detailed than any coach I’ve ever had, and I like that.” So what would more look like? Hilton piled up a league-high 1,448 receiving yards in 2016 and, through five seasons, has more receiving yards than Marvin Harrison through his first five seasons (5,861 to 5,554; Hilton's ninth all-time in receiving yards through five seasons). Needless to say, anything more fantasy owners get will please them.
