The Facts: The Lions are a different offense with Abdullah in the backfield. That was evident in the final open practice last week.
Diehards Line:
This according to Tim Twentyman of the team's official website, who went on to advise readers that Abdullah is the best two-way back on this roster, and this offense is noticeably different with him on the field. ... Abdullah was fully cleared by doctors to return to the field in time for OTAs after missing almost all of the 2016 season with a foot injury. The Lions have said they plan on improving the running game this offseason, and Abdullah will be the tip of that spear -- assuming he can stay healthy. Theo Riddick, Dwayne Washington, Zach Zenner and newly-signed Matt Asiata are also in the mix, so Abdullah will need to deliver at the level he did prior to the injury to maximize his playing time.
