The Facts: This offseason, you can't get through a 24-hour news cycle in the NFL without some sort of update, opinion or windy espousing on the career of Kaepernick. Friday was no exception, as Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was predictably quizzed about the team's visit last week with the former 49ers quarterback. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport recently noted there was "nothing imminent" between Kaepernick and Seattle, a message Carroll echoed in his meeting with scribes. "It was another opportunity for us to keep abreast of what's available to help our team. We've done it in a million ways," Carroll said. "(GM) John (Schneider) continues to work at every turn to figure out what's available, what we could do and does it fit, does it not fit?"
Diehards Line:
Carroll added: "Colin's been a fantastic football player and he's going to continue to be. At this time, we didn't do anything with him, but we know where he is, who he is and we had a chance to understand him much more. "He's a starter in this league. I can't imagine that -- we have a starter, you know -- but he's a starter in this league, and I can't imagine that somebody won't give him a chance to play." So far, nobody else has done that. And Carroll made it clear that Kaepernick -- if he's not snatched up -- could wind up in Seattle down the line. "The door's always open for opportunities," Carroll said. ... Stay tuned.
