The Facts: Brady's quest to play football until he's at least 45 years old depends greatly on his health. We knew the 39-year-old quarterback went through ankle and knee issues at times last season. His wife, Gisele Bundchen, told CBS This Morning on Wednesday, that he has also dealt with concussions. "As you know, it's not the most, like, let's say 'unaggressive' sport. Right? Football. Like, he had a concussion last year," Bundchen said. "I mean, he has concussions pretty much. We don't talk about it, but he does have concussions."
Diehards Line:Last season, Brady was on the injury report last season for thigh, knee and ankle injuries. He was not listed on the injury report with a concussion. In fact, Boston Herald staffer Jeff Howe notes that Brady hasn't been listed on an injury report with a concussion, dating as far back as 2003. Meanwhile, Brady did not miss a game due to injury in 2016 after serving a four-game suspension to close Deflategate. He threw for 3,554 yards, 28 touchdowns, two interceptions and was named Super Bowl LI MVP after leading an epic comeback win to snatch his fifth Lombardi Trophy. The Patriots declined to comment when reached by NFL.com. As Profootballtalk.com suggests, if they ever do comment, they’ll likely say they have no knowledge of any concussion that Brady ever suffered. The real question will be whether Brady has had concussions and what he has done to hide them, or whether his wife is simply misinformed or making bad assumptions. "Either way," PFT's Mike Florio summed up, "the issue presents a complication for Brady that he’ll need to fully and completely address, sooner than later."
