The Facts: Coming off a rookie season that included an NFL rushing title (1,631 yards in 15 games), first-team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl appearance, Elliott is looking to improve in at least one area of his game. "Just becoming a more dominant second-level runner," Elliott said Monday. "I think there were a couple times last year where I could've been [better] on certain runs when I got to the second level. So just kind of focused on finishing my runs and making guys miss at the second level."
Diehards Line:
Elliott led all running backs last season with 14 carries of 20-or-more yards. He led all backs with 91 first-down runs, 19 more than any other player. However, he finished 30th among running backs in passing targets. Arizona's David Johnson led all backs with 120, followed by Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell with 94. Elliott, who had 40, says he hopes to be a bigger part of the passing game in his second season. "We got a lot of guys that can catch the football," Elliott conceded, "so I don't know if that's exactly going to happen. But it may." And that would certainly be one way the former first-round pick can add to last year's totals.
