The Facts: According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, the Bills signed Yates.
Diehards Line:
With just two quarterbacks on the roster, the Bills need to add depth to the position. Yates, 29, played last season for the Dolphins. A former fifth-round draft pick of the Texans in 2011, he has also spent time with the Falcons. Yates started two playoff games for the Texans as a rookie, beating the Bengals in the wild-card round before losing to Baltimore. He also played for the Dolphins in their playoff loss to the Steelers in January. In 18 career games, he's thrown for 1,352 yards, six touchdowns and eight interceptions, with a passer rating of 72.8. He'll work behind Tyrod Taylor and Cardale Jones. As Profootballtalk.com pointed out, Yates’ chances of sticking with the team beyond the offseason will likely have a lot to do with whether they wind up drafting a quarterback later this month.
