The Facts: It appears Doctson is ready to go just in time for the start of offseason workouts. "I'm happy," HC Jay Gruden said last week. "That's a big thing with him. We took it really slow."
Diehards Line:
With the luxury of already having DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder on the roster, the Redskins wanted to take it slow with Doctson during a rookie season that was marred by various Achilles injuries. Doctson missed a majority of offseason workouts along with the entirety of training camp and the preseason before returning in time for the regular season opener against the Steelers. The Redskins will expect more out of Doctson this season, especially with the departures of Jackson and Garcon to other NFC teams in free agency while Terrelle Pryor and Brian Quick need time to acclimate to a new offense. Doctson’s already gotten a jump on his second season with the Redskins, as he went to Florida with some of the other wide receivers to work on timing with Cousins. But he'll need to build on that during OTAs and mini-camps.
