The Facts: Blount currently has an "offer on the table" from the Patriots, Mike Giardi of CSN New England reported Friday. That he's yet to accept it may indicate the deal's numbers and/or structure do not meet his expectation.
Diehards Line:As PFT's Mike Florio pointed out, New England is known for not overly investing at running back, preferring instead to allow even its most productive veterans walk via free agency. And while the team had Adrian Peterson in for a visit, the fact that Blount has an offer makes it seem like they'd like him to return. But only if the price is right for the Patriots. And it might take some time before Blount, who set new career highs in 2016 with 299 carries for 1,161 yards and 18 touchdowns, thinks that price is right for him. Meanwhile, New England isn’t hurting for bodies at the position. It signed Rex Burkhead last month to accompany Dion Lewis, James White, DJ Foster, Brandon Bolden and James Develin. So this might take some time. ... Stay tuned.
