The Facts: Peterson will meet with the Saints next week, according to NFL Network's Heath Evans.
Diehards Line:
As Profootballtalk.com notes, the Saints already have one physical, downhill runner in Mark Ingram. But that won't keep them from taking a look at Peterson. Travaris Cadet, Daniel Lasco and Marcus Murphy are the lone backups in New Orleans. So while Peterson may not necessarily stand out as a complementary option to Ingram, he does represent additional depth at the position, a need the Saints figured to address at some point between free agency and the April 27-29 draft. It's not clear they're looking to spend the kind of money it'll likely take to land Peterson, but stranger things have happened. We'll be watching for more.
