The Facts: Gordon is hoping for a decision on his reinstatement by late April or early May, according to a report, but he's still not in the Browns' plans for 2017. According to Plain Dealer staffer Mary Kay Cabot, "Even if [Gordon] is reinstated, it's doubtful the Browns will give him another chance. A source said they'll likely try to trade him or possibly even release him."
Diehards Line:
ESPN's Dan Graziano reported Friday that Gordon and his camp expect NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to rule on Gordon's application for reinstatement from his indefinite drug ban in about a month or so, but that there's no guarantee he'll be let back in the league. They have his rights for two more years after he's reinstated. But the Browns have given Gordon numerous chances, and he hasn't been able to stay on the field for them. He's been suspended for 43 of their last 48 games, and hasn't seen the field since Dec. 21, 2014. When Gordon left the team last year, Jackson made it clear the team was closing the book on him, and he's not believed to be interested in opening it. Cabot's reporting suggests that's still the case.
