The Facts: The Bills have signed Holmes to a 3-year, $4.5 million contract with $2.425 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. Holmes and the Bills say the deal is not yet signed, however.
Diehards Line:Assuming he ultimately signs, Holmes will be the highest profile free-agent addition to the Bills' thin receiving corps -- which isn't saying much. Former Panthers wideout Corey "Philly" Brown and Jeremy Butler, who last played for the Chargers, were previous additions. Holmes has fallen down the depth chart in Oakland with Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree and Seth Roberts established as the top three. But Holmes showed promise prior to that, pulling in a career-high 47 receptions for 693 yards and four touchdowns in 2014. The Bills lost starter Robert Woods (to the Rams in free agency) off a receiving corps that already needed an upgrade.
