The Facts: Patterson will sign with the Raiders, Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune first reported Monday night.
Diehards Line:
Patterson never lived up to his first-round draft status after the Vikings used the No. 29 pick on him in the 2013 draft, but he played in every game the last four seasons had a career-best 52 receptions last season. He’ll give the Raiders more speed in what shapes up to be a talented receiving corps for quarterback Derek Carr. But his primary value comes on special teams. He has five kickoff return touchdowns in four years, and averages 30.4 yards per return in his career. Against the Raiders in 2015, he returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown.
