The Facts: It's unclear if the Jets have any interest in signing just-released Griffin. But the former Rookie of the Year is intrigued by the possibility of playing for the quarterback-needy Jets, according to a person familiar with Griffin's thinking.

Griffin, who visited with the Jets last year before signing with the Cleveland Browns, enjoyed the trip to Jets' headquarters. The person said he "would be up" for a return. Which shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Of all the teams in the NFL, the Jets offer him the best chance to start. As things currently stand, the Jets have just Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg under contract headed into next season. In other words, the Jets need a quarterback. Jay Cutler, Colin Kaepernick and Brock Osweiler are available, as are others. ... We'll be watching for more.
