The Facts: Free agency is off and running, but Kaepernick, who's slated to become a free agent at the start of the new league year today isn't drawing much attention.
Diehards Line:
Why would Kaepernick fail to draw interest with so many teams in need of help at the position? "For the most part, the body of tape does not show a dropback quarterback," NFL Network's Charley Casserly said of Kaepernick on Wednesday. "It shows a quarterback that's indecisive in his reads and is inaccurate, and he's not quite the runner he was when he first came into the league. ..." Kaepernick officially opted out of his contract last Thursday and can sign with anybody he chooses starting today. Kaepernick threw for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions in 11 starts last season. He's got 72 career passing touchdowns since being taken by the 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. It'll be interesting to see if interest grows soon.
