The Facts: The Daily News has learned that Marshall will be suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Marshall tested positive for Adderall, according to sources.
Diehards Line:
As Daily News staffer Manish Mehta notes, Marshall is part of a promising group of young receivers for Todd Bowles' re-building team. GM Mike Maccagnan released veteran wideout Brandon Marshall last week due, in part, to the organization's desire to give pass catchers Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson, Charone Peake, Devin Smith and Jalin Marshall more opportunities to contribute. Marshall, an undrafted rookie from Ohio State, began his first season as the team's No. 4 receiver and top returner after an impressive training camp. He finished with 14 receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. He returned 13 kickoffs for 324 yards and added 18 punt returns for 100 yards. The 5-10, 200-pound Marshall suffered a labrum tear in a loss in Kansas City in Week 3 that prompted him to miss the next two games.
